Cornel O. Lobont, the Spa Director at Monart Day Spa Poundbury, introduced Florence Roby’s uniforms in grey for his team after Brexit made its existing supplier both expensive and unsustainable.
Cornel explains: “Our previous unforms became unsustainable in more ways than one after Brexit. Costs rose, delivery wasn’t as environmentally friendly as I would have liked and the uniforms themselves were right for the team. While they were very on brand aesthetically, they were too thick and didn’t have enough stretch to ensure our therapists were comfortable.
From the very beginning, when I requested samples, Florence Roby’s service was swift and efficient. I was impressed with their selection and how the specific tailoring met our exact needs. We opted for the Ancona tunic in grey, which has an angled cap sleeve so the treatment oil doesn’t reach it while a therapist is massaging. The neckline is also very modest, even when the therapist is bending low over a client. It’s flattering for any body shape without exposing too much or gaping. It’s these small things that really matter to both our therapists and to the aesthetic we project.”
Cornel has been impressed with the weight of Florence Roby’s fabric and the amount of stretch it possesses. He and his team also remarked on how impressed they were with how well the uniforms wash.
Cornel continued: “We opted for a figure-hugging top and relaxed fit Ankle Grazer Trousers, with a bespoke embroidered logo. For the logo, I was given the choice of three thicknesses of gold thread so I had complete control over how it looked, and the Florence Roby team really listened to what I wanted to achieve.
We would not have been able to opt for such a flattering, fitted style of top had it not been for the stretch in the material – it makes a huge difference to therapists’ comfort during treatments. Plus it’s thin and breathable enough to remain comfortable even on hot summer days.
The dark grey colour has remained even throughout our stock, there’s been no fading of either the tops or the trousers, and no stains despite the amount of oil the uniforms encounter. I know the team also likes the fact they don’t need ironing. For me, they create a chic, classy aesthetic which fits perfectly within our five-star spa.”
