Gemma Barratt - Daniel Thwaites

“Always Adapting to Meet Our Needs!”

Gemma Barratt, spa director at UK hospitality company Daniel Thwaites, believes that small details make a big difference when it comes to spa guest experience. She has partnered with Florence Roby to supply Daniel Thwaites’ spa uniforms for three years.

“I was looking to redo all of our uniforms and wanted to bring everything together, so our therapists, spa hosts, reception team and managers all shared the same polished overall appearance, while still looking distinct from each other,” says Gemma. “I’d previous worn Florence Roby uniforms myself, so requested a selection of their products to see how they suited the spa team. We had a big try-on session and were very impressed.”

“As a multi-spa group – we have six spas located within our hotel portfolio, with at least 10 therapists in each – I needed a supplier that could offer us a large range of sizes as standard, with lots of options for different body shapes, plus maternity sizes. Florence Roby provides all this and more. The team were very forthcoming, easy to work with and good at coming back to me with adaptations to suit what we needed. They’re so easy to work with and that goes a long way in business.”

The Daniel Thwaites spa team wears Florence Roby’s Dasa Tunic and Dress range in navy, with bespoke logos, while the spa hosts are dressed in chinos and polo shirts.

“I was especially impressed with the trousers, which fit really well. We’d had a chino-style trouser before and they were so baggy and unflattering that most of the staff ended up sourcing and wearing their own. Florence Roby’s trousers are slim fitting with a wide leg, which is super flattering and comfy to wear.”

“I have had no complaints at all about the uniforms, which is a win as far as I’m concerned! The staff would let me know if they were good quality but the team are happy to wear them. They’re a simple design and a flattering fit, and they last well. Every time we contact Florence Roby it’s a seamless journey and there’s a lot to be said for that. They’re just nice people who are easy to work with.”
