Gaia Spa at Boringdon Hall
Emily Barnshaw is the Assistant Spa Manager at Gaia Spa at Boringdon Hall in Plymouth. She has worked with Florence Roby uniforms throughout her seven years at the award-winning Devon spa. Gaia Spa is part of the five-star Boringdon Hall Hotel and is consistently ranked as one of the top spas in the South West.
“Florence Roby was the brand chosen for Gaia Spa from day one and we’ve stuck with them ever since,” Emily explains. “The style has never changed – it’s traditional, modest and elegant, which suits the Gaia Spa aesthetic perfectly. We’re an all-natural spa, so we wanted uniforms that were classically timeless and in keeping with our overall look.”
The therapist team wears Florence Roby tunics and trousers, while spa hosts in reception wear dresses. “They’re incredibly durable and super comfortable,” says Emily. “What’s impressive is how well they wash. We do treatments back-to-back all day and the uniforms go through daily laundering – but they don’t fade, they don’t hold on to oils or stain and they still concistently great.”
In addition to standard sizing, Gaia Spa makes use of bespoke options such as maternity fit. A key consideration for Emily’s team is adaptability. “We’ve got therapists across three hotels – Gaia Spa, Fistral Beach Hotel and Budock Vean – and we order for all of them at once. Florence Roby has a great range of trouser lengths and sizes to suit every staff member. The maternity uniforms are especially good – they’re more comfortable than our standard ones!”
Emily adds: “The uniforms are stylish, flattering, professional and practical – which is exactly what we need. They don’t restrict movement during treatments and the therapists really appreciate how wearable they are for a full day shift.
“We’ve built our reputation on quality and service and that includes how we present ourselves to guests. Florence Roby helps us maintain those high standards. The quality is excellent, and the uniforms meet the needs of a busy spa team day in, day out.”
